Contact Statuses
Every contact in the CRM has a color-coded status that provides an at-a-glance view of where things stand. These statuses appear in the pipeline view, contact cards, and conversations, making it easy to scan activity without reading through every message thread.
What the statuses mean
| Color | Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| đĸ Green | Active | Currently in an active conversation or outreach. Something is happening. |
| đ Orange | Needs Attention | Requires manual review. A reply came in, something stalled, or an action is needed. |
| đĄ Yellow | Waiting On Reply | A message was sent and a response is pending. No action needed yet. |
| âĒ Gray | Inactive | No active communication. The contact may be closed, on hold, or in a passive state. |
| đ´ Red | Stopped | Communication has ended. The contact is lost, disqualified, or has opted out. |
Where statuses appear
Contact statuses are visible in several places:
- Opportunities view. Each card on the pipeline board displays the contact's status color.
- Contact view. The status appears at the top of the contact record.
- Conversations. The status color is shown next to the contact name in the inbox.
How to update a status
There are multiple ways to update a contact's status:
- From the Opportunities view. Click on an opportunity, select the new status from the dropdown, and click Update.
- From the Contact view. Open the contact record and change the status directly.
- From the Conversations view. Click the status indicator next to the contact name and select the new value.
When statuses change automatically
Many status changes happen without manual input. The CRM automates status updates based on actions in the system:
- A new lead comes in â Status set to Active
- A follow-up message is sent â Status changes to Waiting On Reply
- The contact replies â Status changes to Needs Attention
- An appointment is booked â Status updates accordingly
- A deal is closed or lost â Status moves to Inactive or Stopped
Keeping statuses accurate matters. Automations and follow-up campaigns rely on contact statuses to determine what to send and when. An inaccurate status can result in the wrong messages going out at the wrong time.
